ABOUT
Born in the USA to immigrant parents, Sil-A began songwriting at the age of 9 as a way to cope with their challenging upbringing. They grew up listening to punk pop in secret, filling notebooks with song lyrics with no training or equipment.
Upon relocating to Seoul, South Korea, they began to experiment with hip-hop and synth, blending the genres to create a unique music staple. Mixing rhyme with electronic beats they create a cross-cultural experience which intertwines both Korean and English lyrics.
in 2023, sil-a made an official debut in the korea times as a vocalist and prdoucer.
Since then, Sil-A has performed over 30 shows across the nation. bringing their music to international stages with two performances in Vietnam, and a special stage in their hometown of Tampa, Florida (usa).
after the release of their debut eps The Definition and Who I Am - their work was praised by debaser Magazine as part of the Top Korean Songs in 2023.
sil-a’s diverse cultural background is reflected in their artistry: a determination to defy labels and an aspiration to challenge society's perceptions of "beauty," "music," and "art."
